This tape was not all that well known because of the artists featured on it but with that said, it still pretty sick. We are fans of anything Statik Selektah puts together and this tape is no different. On this tape there are all different types of emcees from new school up and comers to very well known underground rappers. The tape is free and you can grab it below.

This one was to close to call, Gutter Rainbows was so close to to winning January's Album/Mixtape of the Month. Either was it still made our top 3 list. We've been Kweli fans since we were kids and the dude just never lets you down. Talib's style along with his lyrics make him a force in the game, hes been around forever and we don't see him going anywhere anytime soon. We dig this album so much to the point that we've been listening to it non stop since it came out and including right now as were writing this post. We've posted a few of these tracks over the past weeks that you can still listen to the whole album at Talib's MySpace page right Here.

After listening to this tape a few times through, there is really no reason why we wouldn't choose it for our favorite Album/Mixtape of the Month. The tape is so dope and if you follow TBR you would know this by all the singles we have posted from this tape over the past week or so (Here, Here or Here). Game just kills it from start to finish on this two disc mixtape, mixing up his flow and style many different times. This tape also contains some of the best emcees around from new to old school along with some all-star producers like Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, Nottz, Cool and Dre, RZA, Travis Barker and Green Lantern just to name a few. The featured emcees and producers alone should have you more then fired up to grab this tape if you haven't already. Also a few days after Game dropped this tape he put out another dope mixtape titled The Hangover (Here), which was some leftover tracks from Purp & Patron, that's also worth a listen.
