Tinie Tempah: The Beginning of Raps British Invasion?

If you've never heard of Tinie Tempah, you may want to familiarize yourself with his name and more importantly, his music. This year Britain saw its homegrown rap talent really break into the mainstream and no one did it with more fire power than Tinie Tempah. The 22-year-old South London native had a very large underground following on his home turf. He had built a significant following for the better part of five years. Suddenly, the young emcee was cast into the limelight and was one of the largest stars across the pond this year. At the beginning of 2010, Tinie Tempah signed with Capitol Records. By March he was #1 in the UK with his single "Pass Out". Then he blew up. Tinie Tempah was featured all over the UK on late night talk shows and at music venues everywhere. He even had the opportunity to perform at the legendary Glastonbury festival with an American hip hop legend, Snoop Dogg. The craziest part is that Snoop helped do a remix of Tinie's single "Pass Out" in front of 80,000 strong. Since then Tinie has toured with Jay-Z and Rihanna and his newly released album has gone #1. He's not quite here in the states full force, but the Booth believes he will be very soon. Check out what could be the very beginning of the hip hop British invasion.
